No Fairy Tales in Marriage

Living happily ever after takes hard work and Gods wisdom

LONGWOOD, FL-"A person just can't get married and then wave a magic wand and live happily ever after," says Gerrie Kurtz, author of Marriage Is Not a Cure-All, and That's for Sure, Y'All! (paperback, 978-1-60477-568-6). "Marriage is hard ground that has to be cultivated and worked if you want it to produce fruit."

The author says she heard the "cries of so many lonely women desperate for husbands" and felt "inspired to share with them how they can be blessed with a godly man for a husband. Many of these women think marriage is a cure-all," she says, "but marriage can cause more sickness than cures if they don't know how to make it work for them."

Kurtz hopes readers of the book will not "depend on someone else to make them happy after they marry but will be happy with themselves first and foremost before joining their lives with someone else." She encourages single women especially to focus more on seeking God's will instead of "compromising their morals and principles for the sake of getting a male friend or a husband."

According to the author, "if a woman chooses the husband herself, then the marriage is up for grabs." But if she lets the Holy Spirit lead her when choosing a husband, "she would have a much better chance of having overall happiness in the marriage." And that is what both men and women desire.

Gerrie M. Kurtz ministers to married couples as well as to single women of all ages. She has written books, songs, plays and poetry.
