Author examines pervasive need for spirituality in the armed forces

LONGWOOD, FL-At this time there is a crying need for chaplains in the Army, Navy, and Marines, says Chaplain Beverly James Barnett, author of the newly released For God and Country: Memoirs of a Military Chaplain ($19.99, paperback, 978-1-60477-891-5). The military chaplaincy is particularly critical in this time of war against Islamic extremism. That is why Barnett found it necessary to pen a revised second edition of his earlier book, Air Force Chaplain. The book provides chaplains, other military leaders, and the broader population of godly Americans with a better understanding of spirituality in the American armed forces. This astonishingly candid yet reverential glimpse into the real world of military chaplaincy will resonate with all who desire to strengthen our military and our nation.
