Book Addresses Absentee Fathers, Pain-Filled Wives
Author dispenses hope and godly wisdom for women ready to give up
LONGWOOD, FL--A cultural pandemic of fathers who refuse to be fathers has caused more damage to the fabric of society than any other issue. Today, with one out of every two marriages ending in divorce, many wives are forced to be both father and mother to their children. The void left by "Daddy's" absence affects not only the children but also the woman who counted on having a partner by her side. In her book A Wife's Pain-Filled Heart: Fathers Who Refuse to Be Fathers ($10.99, paperback, 978-1-61215-477-0), author Angelleta Patten-Carter encourages women who have had to walk away from their marriages because they could no longer cope with how they--and their children--were treated by their husbands.
"Rest assured, you are not alone," says Patten-Carter, who writes from life experience. "I am here to let you know how God has helped me to stand the test of time. I encourage you to stay strong and not give up."
Experience is the greatest teacher, and God allowed the author to go through many of the issues outlined in her book in order to help those who are faced with the same issues and problems. "So many wives have been searching for ways to bring healing to their pain-filled heart but are unable to find the answer," says Patten-Carter. "My book will point them in the right direction."
Angelleta Patten-Carter was born in Westmoreland, Jamaica. A wife and mother of three, she immigrated to the United States in 1991, where she earned a bachelor's degree in paralegal studies and an MBA in health services administration, both at Nova Southeastern University. She serves as vice president for the ladies ministry at 6th Avenue Church of God in Miami, Florida.
