LONGWOOD, FL-You've probably heard the stories of the three billy goats gruff and the three little pigs--but you will be looking at them with entirely new eyes when you read author Marie F. Dockery's The Three Billy Goats Gruff Find Jesus and The Three Little Souls ($11.99, paperback, 978-1-60647-605-5), a new book from Christian self-publisher Xulon Press. These religious-themed tales were written so children could more easily relate to and grasp the truths of Christian salvation through Christ Jesus. The first story spins a fantastical yarn about three billy goats that must cross a bridge to get to a church to learn about salvation in Christ. Unbeknownst to the billy goats, however, the devil lurks in the shadows near the church, waiting to ensnare them on their journey to salvation. The second story is patterned after another children's classic and recounts how the three little souls left home and set out to live their lives in different ways.

Says Dockery, "Jesus used parables to teach great Bible truths; likewise, these stories teach that Jesus is the Son of God, who gave his life for all, and salvation is available to all who trust, believe, and accept Christ as their personal Savior. I hope readers will enjoy reading and relating these fairy tales to true salvation through Jesus in their own lives."

Writing children's literature came easy to Dockery, who worked in a children's church ministry and church bus ministry for more than 7 years. Armed with a bachelor's and master's degree in early childhood education, the author has been educating children for the past 15 years. After retiring, the author decided to continue helping educate children about the importance of salvation-this time, through her writing.
