2010-07-16

LONGWOOD, FL-In today's society, violence and corruption occurs on a daily basis--this fact became apparent to Xulon Press author Elizabeth Przepiorka Landis when she was trapped in her own situation of domestic violence for years before breaking free. Within the pages of her new title, Like the Wind ($15.99, paperback, 978-1-60957-056-9), the author reveals her private journal of thoughts written during her fight against abuse. This book will hopefully open the eyes of many people so that they are aware of the devastation that abuse can cause for generations. The author says it is imperative that attitudes toward abuse need to change and that society's laws need to become more stringent regarding violent acts.

"I hope that readers are able to see that abuse in any form is wrong and that they need to stop the abuse before they kill someone or themselves," Landis says. "I also feel that we must have God in our lives. It is okay and a great way to escape abuse to pray and to be an active church member. Catholicism is my religion and it has given me the strength to survive."

Based on the real life drama surrounding the author, this book was written to help inspire people to follow God and be respectful of all life. "Unfortunately, many of my friends and family have been affected by violent acts and harassment," she explains. "This is a form of terrorism, and those committing these terroristic acts should be punished by law. Domestic violence is a disease and is very deadly!"
