LONGWOOD, FL--After the sudden death of his 35-year-old daughter, Kelley, and his wife Fran's Alzheimer's diagnosis, Xulon Press author Colin Duncan was motivated to enter into a daily study of the Holy Bible, seeking answers, understanding, and comfort from the Holy Spirit. Those studies, which greatly aided the author in healing his broken heart, soon became the basis for Ministries of the Holy Spirit ($18.99, paperback, 978-1-61579-342-6), a new book that ministers to readers searching for faith, salvation, hope, comfort, understanding, assurance, and strength to withstand the trials of life.

"If a person is lost, I hope that person finds faith in Christ and is saved," the author says of his hope for the book. "If a person is sorrowing from the death of a loved one, I hope that person finds hope, understanding and comfort to heal their broken heart. If a person is going through a fiery trial, I hope that person finds strength to withstand the test. Finally, I hope every reader gains an appreciation for the work of the Holy Spirit."

Duncan, a born-again Christian, has been in Christian service for 47 years, serving as a pastor in the United States and a missionary in Mexico and Central America. During this time, he came to see how great the need for a work of this kind was, and how people need to see the Holy Spirit is always working through their lives in various ways. "[My book] is filled with the great promises of the Bible," he says.
