LONGWOOD, FL-In 2004, theologian Ross Clifford released a book examining the legal apologetic of John Warwick Montgomery. In this publication, Clifford remarked that it would be beneficial if someone could write a history of the development of legal apologetics. Author William P. Broughton decided to take up that mantle in The Historical Development of Legal Apologetics With an Emphasis on the Resurrection ($14.99, paperback, 978-1-60791-986-1), a new release from Xulon Press. In this book, the author considers the historical development of legal apologetics from the first century to the present, and places a strong emphasis on legally proving the veracity of the resurrection as the means of Christian salvation.
Says Broughton, "The reader will have a better understanding of the historical development of legal apologetics as the best approach to apologetics at this period in history, and [my book] will help people to believe the Bible with greater confidence in the gospel of Jesus Christ through His resurrection."
Broughton's book comes at a time when the resurrection of Jesus and the Christian religion in general are being assaulted from many quarters. Furthermore, the large-scale secularism and pluralism that have developed as a result of multiculturalism in our society presents an even greater threat to the Christian religion. Broughton believes his book is well-suited to our times and will offer a fact-based defense that would be found conclusive in a court of law.
