LONGWOOD, FL--Recently, an atheist organization embarked on a personal quest to disprove the theory of God. They did this by engaging in a publicity stunt where they used buses to display the following advertisement: "Why believe in a god? Just be good for goodness' sake." If ever there was a time for a book to neutralize the divisive effect of atheism upon our country's social, moral, and religious infrastructure, the time is now. Xulon Press author Sophia O. Y. Jones' An Atheist Guide to God ($14.99, paperback, 978-1-60647-352-8; $24.99, hardcover, 978-1-60647-353-5) has a message for everyone, whether you believe or do not believe in God.

Says the Jamaican-born Jones, "I hope the readers will gain knowledge, wisdom, and understanding pertaining to the mysteries of God. The takeaway I hope they will get is the fact that without a shadow of a doubt, there is a God. We claim to believe in God, yet our thoughts and actions are the antithesis of God and His master plan."

You might be wondering what in the world would possess anyone to conjure up such a book. More than a decade ago, the concept was given to Jones by a divine revelation. At first, she did not understand why she was given this task, and she dreaded it. Then she realized that not only was she becoming the author, but she was also a student being taught herself. "[This] startling revelation compelled me to write this book. It changed my thoughts from a question sign to a period," she says.

Sophia O. Y. Jones currently resides in Windsor, Connecticut. She is also an accomplished poet.
