LONGWOOD, FL--Xulon Press author Rev. Francis F. Gilliard, D.Min., has a timely message for our financially ravaged population: keep your faith in God alive and you will do great things. In these times of economic hardship, the author's book, Walking in Affluence ($14.99, paperback, 978-1-60791-257-6), speaks to a people whose faith has been shaken to the core. The book says that the children of God can survive and thrive even in times of economic despair by keeping their focus on God as father, and placing their confidence not in their possessions but in their position, for "we walk by faith, not by sight."

Says Gilliard, "I pray that readers will be anxious to develop or renew a living relationship with God as their Father, and that they will value, cherish, and nurture this relationship. Readers will take their focus off material possessions and focus instead on the spiritual benefits of their relationship with God. This is important because Walking in Affluence is a paradigm for walking in spiritual abundance in economically distressed times."

In his 23 years as a senior pastor, Gilliard has seen what the fruits of faith can accomplish. By faith, he helped rebuild an entire community with 300 units of housing, and he also witnessed a vision of his which had no financial means be brought to fruition by the hand of God. Throughout all his hardships--as well as his encounters with divine providence--he learned the hard way that it is possible to do great things, but unless you maintain your relationship with God and Jesus Christ, nothing can sustain you and everything else is vanity.
