LONGWOOD, FL--Within the pages of Likable Poems for Lovable People ($10.99, paperback, 978-1-60957-969-2), author Dianne Boyd has compiled an informative and inspiring collection of poetry with expressions that are appealing to the intellect. This mesmerizing book, which features 61 poems on a broad range of topics, will help readers to gain a much better outlook on life and to realize that life is not a bed of roses; thorns may crop up from time to time, whether they stem from family, friends, or foes. But how these thorns are dealt with ultimately determine the direction and course of a person's life.

"Inevitable changes in life will take place whether we like it or not. Life is full of surprises," the author says of the message found within her book. "We do have freedom of choice. A choice allowed by default is still a choice. The alternative may have many names, but that one choice still remains the same. I made some bad choices in life, but I found out that a bad choice does not always determine the outcome."

Dianne Boyd is a native of Macon, Georgia. During her childhood years, she drew, read, and wrote poetry. Growing up, she read the works of great poets. She was inspired by Gwendolyn Brooks, Helen Steiner Rice, and Maya Angelou, whose works had a profound effect on her decision to become a writer. Her poems are inspired by her view of the ever-changing world. She believes that everyone can be a pillar of support in making things happen, and that it all depends on the choices made. It is her hope that through her poetry, readers will come to understand and appreciate this viewpoint.
