LONGWOOD, FL-While en route to New Orleans from San Diego, California, in late August 2006, Xulon author Regina M. Cobb, M. A., conceived About My Father's Business (paperback, 978-1-60477-832-8; hardcover, 978-1-60477-833-5), which has just been released in bookstores. "The outline was done then, however, the first words were not penned until Mardi Gras Day 2007, on a train from Atlanta to New Orleans," the author explains. The book is the testament of faith of her father, Cleveland Cobb, Sr., which chronicles the triumphs and travails of coordinating her father's rebuilding efforts in New Orleans post-Katrina. The pages are filled with vulnerability, emotion, love, and trust in God, and readers will find it a challenge to put it down once they begin reading it.

Says Cobb, "For those affected by the hurricane, [my book is] a validating voice depicting the essence of their experience which could not be adequately articulated via broadcast television. For those not affected by the hurricane, [my book is] an easy to relate to frame-by-frame depiction of the universal experience of New Orleaneans brave enough to return to the untenable conditions of that devastated city, thereby living in the third world right here in America."

Because Cobb's father trusted her unequivocally to handle every aspect of his business, he also assigned her to conduct all his business associated with returning to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. The author did this gladly, realizing that as part of a unique segment of America's internally displaced persons (IDP) population, she had to persevere through seemingly insurmountable circumstances in order to see the true workings of God.
