LONGWOOD, FL-The "walking wounded"--who are they? They are wives, mothers, daughters, sisters, grandmothers, neighbors and friends throughout America and the world. We may not recognize them, but they know who they are. They are women who are enduring shattered dreams because their lives did not turn out as they had expected. Alisha Lance writes to these women in her book You Can Begin Again: Hope for the Walking Wounded (paperback, 978-1-60477-455-9). The external conflicts women endure may differ--abuse, addictions, infidelity, divorce, chronic illness or other troubling experiences--but the pain and internal conflicts are the same, says the author. This book will help the reader know that "while no one is guaranteed a smooth, crisis-free walk with Jesus Christ, each of us who trusts in Him is guaranteed victory." She believes "God's redemptive touch can reach His children anywhere--whether they are living in the most ideal or most extreme conditions imaginable." As a new bride Lance was living the "American dream" until one evening her home became a hiding place for spousal abuse. Her book reads like a novel and exposes the devastating pain she lived through. But it also reveals her journey to full recovery. Alisha Lance has spent more than 35 years in ministry, sharing God's Word with wounded women.
