LONGWOOD, FL-Sitting on a pew in church and listening to her pastor speak, Linda Burbank felt his words come alive and fill her heart. The trend continued as visiting pastors and others imparted their wisdom, and from there the author/poet let her pen do the walking. From a Servant's Heart (paperback, 978-1-60266-269-8; hardcover, 978-1-60266-270-4), Burbank's compilation of poetic musings, will minister to believers and nonbelievers alike. As the first poem in the book says, she considers this compilation a gift that God has given her to help guide others on their path.

"I hope my book helps readers understand a little more about life and living it to the fullest as God would want them to," says Burbank, whose compilation features themes on everything from maturity and growth to praise and worship. The Detroit native believes these sermon-based poems will assist others on their spiritual walk in the same way they assisted her. Burbank, who has been writing poetry for over 40 years, has used the exceptional indwelling of the Holy Spirit as a vehicle to her own spiritual completeness. The wisdom and heartfelt instruction she passes on in her writings will help bring spiritual seekers further along on their own journey.

Linda Burbank was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She grew up involved in theatre and dance and has been writing poetry since she was a child. She has also written and published a short story and a childrenÕs book. She graduated from the Institute of Theology by Extension. She is married and has one grown son.
