2007-08-02

LONGWOOD, FL-All her clinical background and training wasn't enough to prepare Marlene Anderson for the intense grief that consumed her after the loss of her beloved husband. When the pain became unbearable, God drew near, picking her up in His "spiritual arms" and holding her with love and comfort. Her book, A Love so Great and a Grief so Deep (paperback, 978-1-60266-660-3), is the story of a great love shared between two people and the grief that follows death. Anderson guides readers through her journey, imparting invaluable wisdom about the grieving process and sharing snippets of her walk with God, who met her every morning.

"So many people are going through the pain and devastation of some major loss in their life, and maybe the information I share both from a clinical standpoint, as well as personal, can help others in their journey," says Anderson.

The best advice she can give? "Take the time to grieve, bringing all your emotions-anger, doubt, fear?'to God with honesty, and know that God will be right there with you." This Anderson discovered for herself when, in her emotional turmoil, she was engulfed by the incredible love of a God who cared for her personally and delivered her from the overwhelming pain.

Marlene Anderson is a consultant, trainer, facilitator, speaker, and counselor. She lives in La Conner, Washington, with her dog, Dickens, and enjoys gardening, writing, speaking, and volunteering at her church.
