Compilation draws on vivid childhood memories in British Columbia

2008-04-17

LONGWOOD, FL-A native of Westbank, British Columbia, Xulon author Carolyn E. Gorman grew up in a rural area by a beautiful lake, which provided for a wonderful childhood full of memories she was later able to draw on for inspiration. In A Collection of 101 Poems (paperback, 978-1-60477-818-2; hardcover, 978-1-60477-819-9), she has channeled that inspiration into a tome that encompasses everything from life's journey and her childhood experiences, to her love of nature and her exciting childhood adventures, to the incredible sensitivity she has for the human spirit and her love of God.

Says the author of her collection of poetry, "The most important thing about my book is that I wrote it my way, with my life experiences, starting at a young age. I can't say I think my book is newsworthy, but I believe my book will provide solace to someone."

Gorman started writing poetry as a young child and has continually written about her friendships, nature, and her belief in God over the years. Besides writing, she is an amateur artist and enjoys painting some of the natural beauty that surrounds her at her home in British Columbia. These creative outlets provide a fitting channel for the authorÕs expression of her love of God. "God is my source of inspiration," she says. "I hope [after reading my book] readers will keep their faith in God."
