LONGWOOD, FL--Revival is a gift which God wants to give Christians. In order to better illustrate that, Xulon Press author D. J. Speckner attempts to examine the meaning of Christian revival in a unique way in his new release, You Might Need Revival If... ($11.99, paperback, 978-1-61579-253-5) Believing that God is the Creator of all things--including laughter--the author tries to look at revival from its humorous side and, at the same time, express the need for joy in the heart of every Christian. This joy can only come from knowing the God of all creation, who loves us and wants to bless us with a happiness that transcends earthly emotions.

Says Speckner, "The book is a humorous look at people and churches that might need revival. It is, at the same time, an attempt to rekindle the need for joy and revival in the lives of Christians."

A pastor for more than 19 years, Speckner came to know Jesus Christ as Savior while in New Mexico. Years later, he accepted his call into the ministry and began pastoring churches in Mississippi. It was during this time that he came to realize the great need for revival in order to revitalize believers' faith in God--which was unsurprisingly lacking in today's society. In this, his first publication from Xulon Press, the author hopes to present this timely and much-needed message to readers everywhere.

D. J. Speckner met and married Ann. Together they are raising three sons of the South: Joe, Stephen, and Jacob, each a rebel with his own cause, and each saved by the grace of God.
