LONGWOOD, FL--Unexpectedly one morning, author Wilbur Lockett heard the voice of God telling him to speak to his children with a message that desperately needed to be heard. With the release of his new book, the author has seen that purpose fulfilled. The letters contained within Psalms for Life: The Pocket Guide to Successful Living in Christ Jesus ($24.99, paperback, 978-1-60957-050-7) are written as poems and offer spiritual wisdom--like the psalms--meant to challenge readers and take them to their next level. The author penned these psalms for both believers and nonbelievers--to help them see understand certain things about how this world works, the devil works, and God works.

"This guide will help you to remember, help you ask the questions of why things happen," the author says. "[It will] help you to search for more answers by giving you a good place to start, knowing that whatever you are going through, you are not alone. Because when you learn to over come self by planning and by learning your purpose, you win in life."

Lockett, a resident of Nashville, says that while he grew up attending church and knowing the central tenets of Christianity, these humble foundations were not what he needed to serve God and change the world around him. He has spent the last 20 years studying, living, and making many mistakes. "I have applied God's Word to help me through many of the issues of my life," he explains. Using the principles in the book--and practiced in his life--readers will be able to "build within you a winner's lifestyle."
