LONGWOOD, FL--In Childlike: The Spiritual Journey of Joshua Nun ($18.99, paperback, 978-1-60791-443-3), a young man in his first year of college meets three young women all interested in his spiritual awakening. One of them has a very childlike faith that helps him to see things clearly, another wants to add him to her church, and still another helps him to see his own depravity. In the end, through God's grace, he finds Jesus. Xulon Press author James Tom's inspiring new book will uplift believers with the knowledge that we come to Christ not through works and the law, but through His grace.

Says Tom, "Churches are made up of humans and humans are fallible. It's easy for a church to get tangled up in rules and traditions even if the rules were made with good intentions. Hence these rules become a stumbling block to Christ. It's in this situation that Childlike's main character finds himself as he struggles with wanting to please a pretty girl and finding truth."

Much like Childlike's Joshua, explains Tom, he joined the Mormon Church for the sake of a pretty girl. "When she saw that I wasn't spiritual, she dumped me and I dropped out of the church," he says. "I then went with a friend to a church where everyone spoke in tongues at once. Lucky for me, a Christian friend took out the Bible and showed me how it only seemed everyone in that church was crazy. Eventually I committed my life to Christ."

James Tom attends Peninsula Bible Church Cupertino. He has been studying the Bible and teaching Sunday school for the last 15 years.
