LONGWOOD, FL-Hampshire-based author Michael Blackmore's newest release, Wonderful Acts: The Acts in One Thousand Rhyming Verses (paperback, 978-1-60477-748-2) offers a lively paraphrase of the Acts of the Apostles in one thousand rhyming verses, enriched with commentary and color and prepared for powerful delivery aloud to large and small groups. In addition to the potentially large readership to be won, the author hopes some readers will be inspired to cause a massive spread of the gospel. He believes this can be achieved by utilizing the set of narratives included in the book which convert the verses into a broadcast series of 15 20-minute sessions. This vast listenership can also be encouraged, informed, and uplifted by the dramatic effect of Blackmore's poetry, which paints a vivid picture of the very early Christian Church.

Says Blackmore, "Whether we became Christian as we grew up in a believing family, were converted by a 'born-again' call of Jesus Christ, or even have yet to decide, the historic basis of the church may not often be perceived as the vehicle by which we arrived here in the 21st century. Conversion is the realization of His call, focused to this Christ-impelled moment. Glorious as that moment is, we cannot isolate [ourselves] in it, but move on to share our new relationship with millions of others in the church. Our inquiring minds soon look at the church and ask: How was it for those in the early church? What happened in the 2,000 years between?"

The 72-year-old author has been a Christian for 23 years. During this time, it was under the moving of the Holy Spirit he felt driven to pen Wonderful Acts, directed in this by obedience to God's Great Commission of Matthew 28-to "go into all the world" with the gospel. He hopes it will create in readers-both Christian and non-Christian-a thirst for the Holy Bible.
