LONGWOOD, FL--Diagnosed at the age of three with rheumatoid arthritis, Xulon Press author Patricia Fitzpatrick spent years coping with frustration over her physical limitations. In recent years, the author began penning her thoughts as a form of meditation and study. Initially, she shared these written pieces with friends and family. Now, in There Once Was a Crooked Woman: A Collection of Meditations ($13.99, paperback, 978-1-60647-729-8), the author hopes to share her deep love for God with others through this book.

Says Fitzpatrick, "[My book] is written by an ordinary person about [an] ordinary life [that was] touched by an extraordinary God. It is not just another book from a handicapped person, but a collection of life experiences one pilgrim has encountered on the journey. It comes from a heart devoted to the one and only living God--a window into this crooked woman's heart."

A woman who loves God and her family, Fitzpatrick has learned to overcome many obstacles in life, both physical and spiritual. But after years of living with and accepting these limitations, she was allowed to recognize God working in and through her. As she fervently penned her thoughts and meditations each day on living life day to day with a debilitating illness, she was better able to see how God uses His bent and crooked vessels every day in ordinary ways to work extraordinary blessings.
