LONGWOOD, FL"Many Baby Boomers can remember the enthusiasm they had as they approached and entered their 20s. They were going to change the world; they were going to change the old ways of doing things that guaranteed the stale status quo of the 1960s and replace them with new ways that were more fair, compassionate, and beneficial to people. What happened? In short, many of them took a slight detour for the last 30 or 40 years to go to work, make money, raise a family, and enjoy life. However, that old dream is still alive in many of them, even if it has been tempered by time. In Left Turn, Right Turn, U-Turn " The Return of the Prodigal Baby Boomers: Our Last Chance to Make It Right ($15.99, paperback, 978-1-61379-365-7; $25.99, hardcover, 978-1-61379-366-4; $7.99, eBook, 978-1-61379-568-2), a new book from Xulon Press, author Angelo Paul Ramunni encourages Boomers to consider carefully whether they will spend the last part of their lives on themselves or invest it in other people.

?"If we decide to spend the time we have left and what we have accumulated solely on ourselves, then we will probably continue down the same road we’ve been on all along,” the author writes in his book. ?"If we decide to invest it, then we will have to make a U-turn and question whom we should invest it in, and for what purpose.”

Ramunni has taught at a local university for the last 14 years. In his position there, he has seen a growing number of students who are afraid to make a commitment to getting married, choosing a career, purchasing a home, and having children. Instead, many are deferring decisions on making these commitments to a later part of their lives. ?"They need us and our guidance,” he explains. ?"We need them, too, I believe, because part of the reason for our own existence as well as part of our current role in life is to give them that guidance. I think it is our responsibility and our job as a generation to set the record straight. We need to make a big U-turn and set a new example for all to follow.”
