MAITLAND, FL— Most people think of a church as four walls, some pews and a steeple. Robb Myers points out in his new book, Life and Love, More Abundantly ($20.99, paperback, 978-1-61904-244-5; $32.99, hardcover, 978-1-61904-245-2; $9.99, e-book, 978-1-61904-548-4), that a church can and should be much more than a building. It should be about community, where people matter more than programs and servants are more valued than leaders. Myers explains that a church is only as effective as its culture; if its culture is based on material the church will continue to be four walls and pews, but if it’s culture is love the church will overflow with blessings.

It expresses that missing link between just making noise and truly impacting culture. Love is our motivation to reach out to the world in multiple ways and receiving love will give people a reason to pay attention. By expressing love, we bring life to ourselves, our friends and the world around us,” states the author. “This examination of truth and love will expose various ways to reach out to the people around us with different levels of effectiveness. It exposes some of the pitfalls in our current approaches to church and being the church in the world. Truth shows us how to love, love shows us why we need truth and the two together bring life more abundantly.

Robb Myers was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska where he currently resides in with his wife. He received a degree in philosophy from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks where he also minored in history and political science.
