MAITLAND, FL— Become acquainted with the use of the alphabet as a tool for searching scriptures with the help of Nancy Hartley Adels’s new book, God’s Rx: Alphabet Soup ($16.99, paperback, 978-1-61904-755-6; $26.99, hardcover, 978-1-61904-756-3; $8.49, eBook, 978-1-61904-757-0). Readers will discover how something as simple as the alphabet can draw them closer to the Lord and His word. The author focuses on six main themes in this book, but also encourages her readers to use the journal space provided to create their own alphabet for the Lord.

Adels asked the Lord, “‘how can I stay focused on You?’ and then the use of the alphabet came into [her] mind. What had God revealed about Himself in His Word that started with A? Almighty, Alpha, Ancient of Days, Able, the Answer, the Amen, and All-sufficient. [Next came] the letter B, [and words like] Banner, Beautiful, Blessed, the Branch, the Bread of life [came to mind].” She states, “Using the alphabet helped me stay focused on the Lord instead of staying upset over things I could not change. It made my troubles seem so insignificant and it helped me see that God is more than able to provide all that I need. I truly believe this book will help others who need a different perspective when dealing with unjust treatment or disappointments."

Nancy Hartley Adels has an M.S. in Nursing and has taught adults for forty years. She has also been in charge of a program that developed patient education materials that were used in a large urban hospital. Most importantly, she wants to encourage her readers to focus on God and let Him lead their lives.
