MAITLAND, FL— In V.J. Lane’s new book, Gone to War, Love EB ($18.99, paperback, 978-1-61379-504-0; $28.99, hardcover, 978-1-61379-505-7; $9.49, e-book, 978-1-61379-579-8) readers will discover the main character, Eliza, is a visionary; with her special gift she can see things that will happen. After her husband leaves, she has a vision that shows her changes she must make to keep herself and her daughters safe. Being Native American, she believes in the spirits and can feel them all around.

The take-away of this story is that the main character, Eliza, never gives up hope. The author states that after learning that her husband is missing, Eliza becomes determined to carry on day-to-day tasks and face any trouble she encounters head on. She starts to carry her gun with her everywhere she goes. Eliza never lets go of the feeling that her husband, Eb, is still alive.

In researching her genealogy, the author discovered her great, great grandfather did indeed become missing in the civil war, which sparked the idea of the book and how it could have happened, hence Gone to War, Love EB. V.J. Lane is a homemaker and great grandmother. She was born in the city of Kinston, North Carolina. She now lives near Kinston and the town of LaGrange, North Carolina.
