MAITLAND, FL In his new book, EVANGELISM: A Road Less Traveled ($18.99, paperback, 978-1-61996-632-1), Gene R. Simowitz brings emphasis to one of Jesus’ commands: that the believers shall be His witnesses. The author notes that the church body seems to strive to love one another, forgive one another, study the Bible, go to church and tithe, etc. but fall short at evangelizing to the lost.

I’m hoping that the readers will realize that using their own personal testimony, and with the help of Scripture passages and/or gospel tracts, various circumstances and situations, witnessing to lost souls will not be as difficult as they fear,” states the author. “This was the whole reason for writing the book: to help Christians realize this is a road in our daily Christian walk which, perhaps, is the least traveled, and yet there is a great need for more Christians to pick up this mantle...”

Gene R. Simowitz has personally participated in, and conducted, several evangelism training seminars, including youth evangelism meetings. The author has been a continual revival speaker when asked, as well as song leader for revivals when needed. In each of the churches Simowitz has served, evangelism, witnessing and outreach have always played a major role in his ministry, resulting in rapid growth in the churches and building programs to accommodate that growth.
