MAITLAND, FL Within the pages of Rebecca Darrington’s new book, Doodletoot- A Happy Little Basset Hound Dog ($17.99, paperback, 978-1-61996-337-5; $8.99, e-book, 978-1-61996-338-2) readers will discover a little dog that learns a lesson about who truly is a good neighbor. He realizes that he, also, can show that same kindness and love to others.

[The takeaway is] an understanding that a neighbor isn't just someone who lives near you, but a neighbor is anyone you happen to meet as you go about your day,” states the author. “It’s the person you sit next to at lunch or the elderly person that greets you at the Supercenter. Extending kindness is not something that has gone out of style or is old fashioned and even though we always need to practice safety we also need to lend a hand to those we see in need.”

Rebecca Darrington has parented four children. The author ran an in-home daycare for six years and later went on to teach preschool for fifteen years. She has taught Sunday school since she was a teen. She is now a Grandma to seven wonderful grandchildren. The author spends her time gardening, watching her grandchildren, and helping her husband with the family farming operation.
