Hazel Minnick was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease at the age of 53. She quickly entered the “land of the lost” not knowing how to properly feed herself and sometimes not even able to recognize her family. Today she promotes early diagnosis, meds to reverse the symptoms, and Ballroom Dancing to rehabilitate the mind and body. Recently experiencing her thirteenth year of living independently and vibrantly with Alzheimer's, she feels it is her personal responsibility to maintain her independence in living for as long as possible.
