MAITLAND, FL— Within the pages of Dr. Thomas E. Berry’s new book, Jesus, the Black Messiah ($10.99, paperback, 978-1-62509-210-6) readers will gain insight into the character of Christ. The author brings up a delicate topic of discussion, his main point suggests, “that it is possible that Jesus was black and the reason was God’s desire for his son to endure prejudices.”

“The book is an original interpretation of the Biblical presentation of Christ’s trials during his ascent to Calvary,” states the author. “God could have sent him in a golden chariot with armored guards, but he was presented to mankind as a humble, scorned being. Mankind had to accept him through faith, not wealth or possessions.”

Thomas E. Berry is a retired professor of Russian culture and philosophy who lectures in the Odyssey Program of Johns Hopkins University, the Smithsonian Institution and the Russian Cultural Center of the Russian Embassy in Washington DC. He received a “Gramota” from the Russian government for helping to improve relations between the US and Russia. His books are listed on Amazon.com.
