MAITLAND, FL— Through fresh insight, Robert
Prezioso’s new book, The Sacred Betrothal: The Theology of Judeo Christian
Marriage ($22.99, paperback, 978-1-62509-125-3; $9.99, e-book, 978-1-62509-126-0) illuminates God’s design for His most sacred relationship, bringing
depth hardly ever reached. Hebrew tradition and the Bible tell that there is an
unbreakable betrothal, a marriage bond to God. Through this covenant, God is an
active participant within marriages. According to the author, since most people
are either unaware or do not welcome this sacred presence, marriages are rarely
what they are designed to be.
“Although marriage is the centerpiece of both the Hebrew and Christian faiths, the divorce rate is as high among professed faithful couples as those who are not,” states the author. “Today, as attacks grow on traditional family values, Christian teaching has not taken the required trajectory through scripture that puts the fundamentals of married life in its rightful perspective. Marriage is not a means of getting through life as happily as possible. Marriage should be joyous.”
Bob Prezioso has valued the insights of scripture from a very young age. Having overcome cerebral palsy, he has felt the hand of a loving God upon his shoulder throughout his life. Among family and friends he did not see the marriage relationship he wanted, so he went to the time-honored principles of scripture for the game plan he needed. He studied the topic for a number of years, and has presented those fundamentals with both their Hebrew and Christian traditions to provide new insights to God’s view of marriage. He lives in San Antonio Texas with his wife, Epsie. They have three children and four grandchildren.
