MAITLAND, FL— Rayla-Jeanne Klepetko’s new
book, The Genesis Approach to Art: Studying Art from a Biblical Perspective ($13.99,
paperback, 978-1-62697-456-2; $6.99,
e-book, 978-1-62697-457-9)
reveals
how humanist presumptions about art have been left unexamined by people of
faith. The author directs her book towards people of faith who are professional
artists, art teachers or hobbyists. It offers a fresh look at the underlying
purposes and goals of art, practical “how-to’s” and rich devotional materials.
“This book guides us into a study of art that teaches us to know, love, and serve our Creator,” states the author. “Instead of using art to glorify themselves, readers will grow spiritually as well as artistically as they learn to see how God’s creation is a reflection of Him and how art is His gift to us.”
Rayla-Jeanne has always had a passion to use her skills to empower, equip, and encourage others. After initially studying art in Washington D.C., she moved to Germany where she continued studying art and earned the Gold Certificate of Accomplishment from the Herzfeld Academy in Wiesbaden, Germany. Upon returning to the U.S., she used her art skills as an image consultant and a fashion designer during the 1980’s and early 90’s. She went into full time ministry in 1994. She returned to her passion for the visual arts in 2005 when she accepted a position teaching art to middle school students in a religious school. It has been during this time that she has integrated her Judeo-Christian worldview with her love of art.
