MAITLAND, FL— Ken J. Burge, Sr.’s new book, Preaching with F.I.R.E.’s E.T.A.: Preparing and Delivering Sermons with God’s Holy Fire ($13.99, paperback, 978-1-62697-507-1; $6.99, e-book, 978-1-62697-508-8) was written to provide a simplified process to prepare sermons and deliver them based upon a living relationship with Jesus through the Word. The author writes to emphasize the point that a preacher should rely on the Holy Spirit alone—and how to do so—when relaying a message, accurately, and delivering it with God’s authority.

“The desired result is that the reader can obtain the necessary skills to produce biblical messages that accurately reflect the text and leave a divine heart burn (as Jesus’ disciples experienced in Luke 24:32) upon those hearing the Word,” states the author. “This book is written because . . . a comprehensive work should be written that is easy to grasp and yet profound when applied.”

The author has filled the same pulpit for twenty-two years. During this time he’s earned five theological degrees. His doctorate from Dallas Theological Seminary had an emphasis on preaching. Ken Burge’s dissertation is titled “Developments and Evaluation of a Sermon Preparation and Delivery Class for Laymen.” The research for this project was continued subsequent to graduation and led to preaching articles being published in Preaching and at preaching.com. The author has been privileged to teach homiletics both in the United States and in Central America.
