“In times like these, [the book] brings fresh and insightful thoughts about the principles, purpose, practice and power of prayer,” states the author. “It offers the readers various methods and models of prayer and provides them with examples of prayers and questions for thought and discussion at the end of each chapter.”

From Mount Gilead, North Carolina, Eric L. Leake is currently the pastor of the Martin Temple A.M.E. Zion Church. He not only serves as the president and C.E.O. of the Martin Temple Community Foundation in Chicago, Illinois, but he is also the prayer coordinator of the Midwest Episcopal Area of the A.M.E. Zion Church. For over sixteen years, Leake was the pastor of Greater Warner Tabernacle A.M.E. Zion Church in Knoxville, Tennessee before moving to Chicago. The author is married to Jean McMurray Leake and they have four children and one grandchild. Leake’s grandmother taught him the power of prayer at a young age, and he has practiced prayer for more than twenty-five years through his role as a preacher, pastor, and prayer leader.
