Moatz suggests preventative measures for handling conflict in a congregation

MAITLAND, FL— In her new book, It Happened in a Lutheran Church: A Sacrificial Lamb ($15.99, paperback, 9781626975811; $7.99, e-book, 9781626975828) R. L. Moatz hopes to inspire readers to listen to their instincts; she believes that is when God speaks. She impresses the point to embrace confrontation within a congregation, especially in circumstances where there is an obstacle in communication between two or more people. The author uses her personal experience as a case of what could go awry when church members choose not to take her recommended approach.

“I would like to see readers gain courage, hope, and serenity; the courage to sit down and talk to one another when problems arise, the hope that comes from reading a story that in some way reflects one’s own personal struggles, and the serenity received by turning it all over to God at the end of the day,” states the author.

R. L. Moatz was born in Wilmington, Delaware and raised in rural Pennsylvania in the Lutheran faith having been baptized, confirmed and married in a small country church near her childhood home. She is married and lives with her husband, a retired deputy sheriff. Having battled numerous health issues since early childhood, a diagnosis of fibromyalgia and an exacerbation of Rheumatic heart disease at the age of forty necessitated her leaving full-time employment, and eventually led her to a career in freelance writing.
