MAITLAND, FL— In her new book, Both Sides of the Coin ($20.99, paperback, 9781625099778; $9.99, e-book, 9781625099785) Heather Mavis Owen shares with readers poems based on Scripture, everyday life and even personal prayers. The clear emphasis of the poetry is the author’s faith in God and her hopes are that readers will be blessed and find enjoyment through each line.

“I hope that the ‘take away’ from reading my book will be the impression that God is good and because of that, we do not need to have an explanation of everything that happens in this world,” states the author. “His purposes are fixed, but our free will causes Him to make the plan flexible.”

Heather Mavis Owen was born into a Christian family in the U.K. and showed a great interest in music, poetry and spiritual things early in life. In 1947, she married Reverend David B. Owen of Wales, and after their first two sons were born, they came to the U.S. by invitation from several ministers who had visited the church in Newport where David was the Pastor. Poetry was something Heather appreciated but did not start to compose until 1977. After David went to be with the Lord, Heather composed several hundred poems, many of which are in this volume. The poems have been described as spiritual, astute and humorous!
