MAITLAND, FL— Within the pages of Tonya M. Logan’s new book, Mommie’s Bright Sunshine:  Moving Beyond the Death of a Child While Grieving a Future Not to Be ($18.99, paperback, 9781628713336; $29.99, hardcover, 9781628713343; $9.99, e-book, 9781628713350) readers will gain hope, specifically, if they have suffered the unfathomable loss of a child. The author is diligent in also providing suggestions on how to support another who has lost a child. Ms. Logan’s book would not be complete without the chronology of Kayla’s brief life—the author’s wonderful Sunshine—the inspiration of this book.

“…[This book] is newsworthy because sadly, there are many parents who have lost children via a variety of means,” states the author. “As it is not expected that our children will predecease, we need to be encouraged to share our story to keep our children’s memory alive and continually support one another as the grief is lifelong.”

Tonya M. Logan, an LICSW and LCSW-C, has worked in the area of foster care for over twenty years and currently recruits and licenses foster parents for abused and neglected children who cannot remain with their birth families through MENTOR Maryland. Ms. Logan is currently on the Advisory Board of the Center for Infant and Child Loss, which works with bereaved parents. Ms. Logan began, on July 7, 2007, an organization, Kayla’s Village, named in memory of her deceased daughter. She is the parent of two children, one by adoption and one by birth and has hosted two exchange students. It is evident that Ms. Logan tries to tailor her life to help others in need.
