MAITLAND, FL— Philip Chavanne’s new release, The Early Tales of Snow and Oakham ($28.49, paperback, 9781628392951; $9.99, e-book, 9781628392968) projects themes of legacy, redemption, and responsibility. This fictional book draws from the author’s unconventional, personal travels, his experiences, and encounters with an array of colorful people—the inspiration for many of his characters. Chavanne masterfully shares on the great burdens that must be undertaken for a boy to become a man, and how parents carry the responsibility to guide children toward a selfless life of duty and character.

“[This book] tells a story that has never been told: An adventure novel about the journey from boyhood to manhood and the power of redemption in the modern world,” states the author. “I’ve never read a worldwide, faith-based adventure novel set in modern times geared toward young men in our culture. That’s exactly what I set out to do.”

Philip Chavanne was raised in Shreveport, Louisiana, a pastor’s son, and his love for the outdoors and adventure stories were in him from the beginning. When he was twenty he sold everything he owned, reducing all of his belongings to a single backpack and moved to Colorado to collect and write stories. After College, Chavanne quickly resumed his adventures by hitch-hiking across Alaska, Europe, India and southern Africa. Over the next ten years, he amassed forty short stories across fifty countries and six continents, resulting in a canon of creative ideas. After years of exploring the world and harvesting stories and characters, Chavanne returned to his family ranch to begin the task of writing his novel. Twelve years later an epic adventure entitled, The Early Tales of Snow and Oakham has emerged.
