MAITLAND, FL— Midge Johnson’s new book, They Didn’t Get That Way By Themselves: A Common Sense/Spiritual Approach to Training Your Child ($12.99, paperback, 9781626971028; $7.99, e-book, 9781626971035) emphasizes that parents are given the responsibility to train their children with love, discipline, and teaching. According to the author, it is critical that parents know each child, individually, and not to relate to them all in the same manner.

“I hope to provide a common sense approach that will make it easier to train each child in a beneficial manner, as well as making it easier to train the child from the parent’s perspective,” states the author. “This book is written based on experienced and godly approaches detailed in the book, and not via scientific speculation and supposition—it is keeping it real.”

Midge Johnson is a seventy-year-old mother and grandmother with a career in the Information Technology industry that spans over fifty years. She has a Bachelor’s degree in business management, and a Master’s degree in public administration. She has learned, observed, and heard a lot of things related to “training” children through the years, and decided that maybe she could help new parents and maybe some who were already parents. Some of the things she heard came from her mother, her grandmother, books, and from new and inexperienced mothers, like her, who shared what they had learned.
