MAITLAND, FL— The new book by Alice V. Walters, Life with Bobby and Bonnie (Tales from the Hood through the Eyes of the Wood), ($21.99, paperback, 9781498412285; $9.99, e-book, 9781498412292) is a compilation of short stories for children. Throughout the book, readers will journey alongside Bobby and Bonnie Bunny, and they will learn lessons surrounding love, faith, and other traits that lead to building strong character in the very likeness of Christ. The author hopes to use her book to deliver encouragement to the sad, lonely, and/or broken-hearted youths that may be among her readers.

“My book is about flawed characters that struggle, make mistakes, and find redemption through life lessons with the help of family, friends, teachers, and Jesus,” states the author. “My prayer is to validate challenges and struggles that children and families face, and to share that they do not have to face them alone.”

Alice V. Walters feels blessed by diverse experiences working with and learning from children of all ages for over thirty years. Most of the author's professional development came from her students and colleagues in the urban school district where she served for ten years before retiring. Working with students who faced poverty, neglect, abuse, and death on a daily basis, taught her far more than any college course or professional workshop. Alice came to realize that not only can all children (and adults) learn, they can also teach. Alice’s most memorable experiences are ones when her most needy students were empowered to teach and share with their classmates, and with her.
