MAITLAND, FL— J. Lew’s new book, Rock, Paper, Scissors: Reflections of life, ($10.99, paperback, 9781498423298; $5.99, e-book, 9781498423304) is about a retired school teacher who returns home after fifty years only to be jettisoned back in time to the days of nose bleeds, headaches, and humiliation dished out by the town’s hoodlums. This book brings to life a cast of characters that many readers can relate to. The story is set in a time of coming of age, romance, and the American dream.

“I would like the readers to get a brief feel of the past, and the fast times and boundless energy of their youth,” states the author. “I would also like the readers to understand that pain doesn’t last always, and that success is not only measured by the number of goals set and achieved, but also by the number of lives they’ve touched on the way.”

J. Lew is a minister, speaker, teacher, writer, mentor to both young and old, and a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. Living just outside Austin, TX, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Management from Texas State University. J Lew’s inspiration for Rock, Paper, Scissors comes from his not-so-fun memories of the early years of his youth when he would hide after school to avoid a boy that started picking on him in the first grade. The author shares, “I have been picked on, chased, and also been one to stand by, watch, and do nothing to avert others from being subjected to the same cruelty that I experienced at a young age. Strength comes from within, and time helps put our fears in the past.”
