MAITLAND, FL— Nancy Carter presents the first book in a grand series, The Telegram, Book 1—The Story of Charles Schultz, ($22.99, paperback, 9781498405874; $34.99, hardcover, 9781498418607; $9.99, e-book, 9781498405881). Life couldn’t get any more complicated for Charles (Charlie) Schultz, a young WWI veteran who is hiding out at his sister’s house to escape a loveless marriage to a woman he barely knows. However, life takes an unexpected turn for Charlie when he receives a telegram declaring his wife’s sudden death. He finds strength and influence from his Christian upbringing and learns to lean on prayer to find direction in his life.

“I hope that readers will be able to see the strength and influence that a strong Christian family can impart to individual lives; and that we all have a ‘God calling,’” states the author. “We need to endorse the power of God in our homes and families. The Schultz family embraced customs and traditions that put God first and taught the children to do the same. Charlie spends time in private ‘prayer talk’ to find solace, strength, and direction in his life.”

Nancy Carter was inspired through God’s providence and her mother, Dorothy Schultz Murrell’s genealogy work to write this just released exciting, Christian, historical fiction novel about her maternal grandfather. Nancy is a native of Milton, WV, and an award winning short story author. She and her husband, Dave, are graduates of Marshall University. They are retired and live in the pristine North Georgia Mountains. Nancy hopes The Telegram series will inspire readers to write down their family stories and preserve them for generations to come.
