MAITLAND, FL— The thought-provoking book by Gloria Manns, BROKEN
BUT NOT ABANDONED: Multiple Wounds Healed By the Master's Hand, ($16.99,
paperback, 9781498431552; $8.99, e-book, 9781498431569) is an autobiographical
piece that depicts a childhood filled with pain and adversity; however, the
author grows up to become a successful caregiver, wife, and mother, and
eventually accepts Jesus Christ as Lord. The author’s heart in sharing her life
story was to demonstrate that, no matter how painful a childhood is, God can
restore a broken person to wholeness through a relationship with His Son
(Christ).
“There are no mistakes in God's economy,” states the author. “Trials and sadness can strengthen a person no matter how weak he or she feels the time. [Even] a broken person can find healing and hope.”
Gloria Manns has chosen to tell her story in hopes that others can see that it is possible to overcome any and all adversity in life, but it is certainly a choice. She overcame her sexual molestation and abuse, living with an alcoholic mother, and father with whom she felt a huge distance. Gloria has gone on to become a nurse practitioner, mother of four, and most importantly, lover of Christ. Gloria Manns has been published in Decision Magazine, The Journal of Christian Nursing, and ghost wrote an article published in Moody Magazine. She is a retired family nurse practitioner who lives in upstate New York.
