MAITLAND, FL— Within the pages of Merle Grenz’s new book, The Veil Ripped, ($10.99, paperback, 9781498439572; $5.99, e-book, 9781498439589) readers will embark on a historical journey on sin’s emergence on earth and how Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross can free all from the slavery of sin. Merle shows examples of sin entering the world through Adam and Eve’s disobedience in the Garden of Eden, but that through Jesus, believers can be freed from sin and no longer be enslaved by it as they re-establish their relationships with God.

“The central theme of the book is to tell Bible stories from the perspective of freedom offered versus the slavery often chosen. It covers the time from Adam to Christ’s death on the cross when the veil is ripped,” states the author. “I hope readers take away two things: one is to listen to God as He now speaks through His Son; the second is to live free in Christ. The reason why: there are only two ways to live; slave or free.”

Having experienced firsthand living in fear and being enslaved in the mind, Merle Grenz feels he knows the cycle of slavery, going back and forth from freedom and slavery, all too well. He cites Galatians 5:1, which states that Christ frees believers from sin so they can be free, as reason to seek this break from sin than remain chained to it. “The journey continues, but when you do find the freedom, you find sweet peace and joy. The church needs to wake up and become who they are called to be; be alive and not just organized,” Merle concludes.
