MAITLAND, FL— Within the pages of Dr. Ron’s Lester new book, The Day The Lights Went Out, ($17.99, paperback, 9781498422789; $8.99, e-book, 9781498422796) readers will discover that the Word of God is powerful enough to change any person so that person can change the world. Some may feel “grounded” from being effective in life due to a disability, poverty, or other circumstance that feels insurmountable. Book explains how God may simply be changing ones life direction and encourages readers to follow the path He has chosen for each person.

“My hope is that readers will understand that when they are challenged by life, it is not the end of the world. It is simply a test of one’s true grit,” states the author. “If I can overcome the major obstacle that blindness can be, my readers can survive and thrive through whatever challenges they face.”

Dr. Ron Lester is a Vietnam-era veteran who lost his sight as a result of a hereditary eye disease called Retinitis Pigmentosa. Despite blindness, Dr. Lester is an experienced educator and ordained minister, travelling nationally and abroad to minister and to represent blinded veterans. He makes his home in Tucson, Arizona, where he is active in the local church.
