MAITLAND, FL— Within the pages of Hewlette Pearson’s new book, The Most Important Word, ($12.99, paperback, 9781498416078; $6.99, e-book, 9781498416085) readers will learn that love is necessary to bring hope and healing to the world. Pearson interviewed thirty-eight people from various backgrounds and walks of life, and recorded each person’s responses to three simple questions: What is your definition of love? How do you show love? How do you feel when love is shown or expressed to you? The respondents’ words will inspire and help to bring love to the forefront of the minds of the readers.

“I hope readers realize the need for love and the importance of community,” states the author. “This book wakes us up to the reality that people are looking to be valued, accepted, appreciated and affirmed. And all of that is summed up in ‘people want to be loved.’ When we begin to express and show love intentionally, the world will respond in kind as there will be no other recourse but to accept the love. This unconditional love will heal and bring hope to the world.”

Hewlette Pearson worked with at-risk populations as an English and character education teacher at a juvenile detention facility. She was a director of a transitional employment program that served recently release ex-offenders. Pearson was also a life skills trainer to homeless women for over nine years. She believes that many of the unfortunate felt unloved, neglected, devalued and rejected. In the years of working with such population, she found that most yearned for attention, love and affirmation.
