Haakanson-Rickard is a Native Alaskan that grew up in a village on Kodiak Island. Her life was filled with joy and terror. She loved her family, her community, and her life in this beautiful place. As much as she loved these things, her life was filled with terror at the hand of an abuser. Gloria tried to dull the pain of abuse through many destructive things. Ultimately, God rescued her from the destructive patterns and is restoring her to full wholeness and healing. Gloria and her husband, David Rickard, have five adult children.
