He was inspired by the Holy Spirit to reach others who need Jesus as their Savior. Rod Long’s uncle, Joe Dockery, suggested he write down his studies.
He obliged and sent each to his mother, co-author Sue Buzzard, to decipher,
search Scripture and rewrite as a devotional. After 3 years of prayer and study,
his mother typed the transcript for publishing – to be now enjoyed and
appreciated by all readers. The goal of this book is to spread the Gospel of
Jesus’ love and enlighten those in the grasp of Satan’s darkness.

While incarcerated, Rod Long completed studies for a Master’s Degree and received a Sacred Degree of Master of Ministry, with the distinction of Magna cum Laude. He was leading a Bible study and prayer group in prison when his uncle suggested that he write down the studies to be later translated into devotionals for this book. He is in good standing with the Commerce Community Church, West Des Moines, Iowa and received his certificate of Ordination. He completed his Doctorate Degree in 2015. His mother, co-author Sue Buzzard, has been a Spirit-filled Christian for over 65 years: she studies the Word, attends church faithfully and seeks the leading of the Holy Spirit.
