MAITLAND, FL— Within the pages of Katherine Jones’s new book, Foster Cat Foster Kid God Says You Don't Have to Eat Dirt Anymore!, ($15.49, paperback, 9781498420327) readers will learn how God brought a neglected and abandoned cat into the life of its rescuer, who also had been neglected and abused as a child; put into group homes and foster care; then sent back to her mentally ill mother, whom she ended up mothering. The cat literally and figuratively saved her life – and she did the same for it. God used faith, hope, and love to heal her childhood pain; and in writing this book showed her how her life mirrored that of the cat's struggles, which God used to heal them both. Katherine becomes the voice of abused children; and her cat, Good Boy, reflects their feelings of being abandoned and abused. The author and her cat prove this faithful point: God has a plan and purpose for everyone.

“This book reaches a large audience; especially those interested in the welfare of children, the causes of animals, and people of faith,” states the author. “There are many subjects in the book that everyone can relate to. It is with great hope that the reader takes away hope, promise, and if they are a person of faith, that his or her faith is strengthened.”

Katherine Jones is a strong advocate for those in the foster care system. In 2014, she was a recipient of the Foster Children's Day Award, and received a Mayoral Proclamation for her advocacy work. Katherine serves as a board member for a newly forming non-profit organization that helps foster children, and is an administrator in a foster care support group. She has received letters of appreciation from Senators for her efforts in helping with the welfare of animals. Her strong faith in God guides her in all that she does. Podcasts of Katherine's online radio show – beginning November 8, 2015 – can be found on www.facebook.com/authorkatherinejones.
