MAITLAND, FL— Within the pages of Jack Egger’s new book, From Sin to Salvation - Poems and Paintings, ($19.99, paperback, 9781498439442; $9.99, e-book, 9781498439459) readers will learn that Discipleship is NOT a spectator sport. Each person is called to be an active part of the body of Christ. The poems and paintings in this book were created and compiled with the hope of energizing “saved Christians,” and challenging the “unsaved” to look closer at their lives. Subjects addressed in this book include: war, death, suicide, sinful relationships, drugs, alcohol, and Christian complacency. It also celebrates personal salvation and the beauty of God’s creation. Each reader is challenged to evaluate his or her sinful nature, faith, and salvation – and with salvation comes a responsibility and a calling to use one’s given talents for the glory of God.

“I hope that Christians will find themselves evaluating their own relationship with Christ Jesus and find themselves disturbed from their normal Christian routine, with a renewed responsibility to use their talents for the Glory of God,” states the author. “Salvation is given to us free, but it carries with it some inherent responsibilities. Saying we are Christians and “saved” is not enough.”

Jack Egger is a writer and artist. His artwork adorns several churches. He received his Master of Arts degree in Social Sciences from Pacific Lutheran University.
