MAITLAND, FL—Martha B. Hook’s book, Acts By E-Mail – The Story of a Church…with a twist of lemon, ($15.99, paperback, 9781591601494; $25.99, hardcover, 9781591601500) cleverly peels back the layers of small town church life in a remarkable series of fictional stories. Gain insights and enjoy a good tale of how any church may stumble but keep on keeping on. Meet Wayne Latimer, a pastor of the small church of his childhood, who confidentially writes to his brother about what’s really going on in his church. These realistic, often humorous, stories weave together to show how God works in and through an ordinary church. See how God employs imperfect church members and twisted situations to accomplish His purpose. Martha B. Hook writes fictionally based on her many years in various ministry situations – tales to be enjoyed by both men and women.

I hope believers will be encouraged as they read about a not so perfect church that keeps on keeping on as members take care of one another no matter what,” states the author. “Perhaps by reading about this small church in action, they will realize that even flawed people who love one another can bring glory to God.”

Martha B. Hook, a native Texan, has been an English teacher, Bible Study leader, Divorce Recovery facilitator, radio Bible Study host, and trained lay counselor. She graduated with a BA from North Texas Teachers College (now UNT) and an MA from Southern Methodist University. She also attended Liberty University. She has 3 daughters and 12 grandchildren.
