MAITLAND, FL— S. Taylor Ferris’s new book, A SAD GOLF BALL, ($9.99, paperback, 9781498462648; $20.99, hardcover, 9781498462655; $4.99, e-book, 9781498462679) is a humorous children's success story. It follows the journey of a sad golf ball named “Balata” which finally finds happiness when a little boy buys him and makes a "hole in one". This story was inspired by the author's actual challenges on the golf course that presented him daily on his journey of reaching his goal to become a professional golfer. It is a story that all children will love to read over and over again whether or not they enjoy the game of golf. Golfers of all ages will definitely relate to all the emotions and challenges presented on a golf course. This book includes the author's view of how he will succeed in reaching his life goals.

This fictional story was written by the late S. Taylor Ferris, who at the age of 12, was met with many challenges on his way to fulfill his dream of becoming a professional golfer. Taylor began playing golf at age 3. He played every day of his life. He did become a golf professional, gave lessons and won many local tournaments. Being a good role model to children was always important to Taylor. Sadly, in his mid-20’s, he was diagnosed with epilepsy, a serious brain disorder. He fought the battle that epilepsy presented him while never letting go of his dreams. You could find Taylor on a golf course or a driving range any day of the week.  Allenmore Golf Course in Tacoma, Washington was his home away from home. In mid-March, 2015, Taylor finished his last tournament at Allenmore with a head-turning 66.

Sadly, one month later and one day shy of his 30th birthday, Taylor lost his life in a fatal automobile accident while driving home from work. He spent his 30th birthday in the arms of the Lord Jesus Christ. He will be missed by many but never forgotten. This book will be a lasting tribute to him. A portion of any royalties received from sales of this book will be donated to the Epilepsy Foundation in the hopes of finding a cure.

“I want young readers to know that God, hard work and dedication is needed to accomplish goals in life,” states the author’s aunt, Donna Alexander. “You don't need to be perfect to succeed. Do what you love and believe in yourself. Dream BIG; always reach for the stars.”
